WHO ARE Mid-South Color Labs?

Begun in 1957 in a small space above a shop in downtown Jackson, Tennessee, Mid-South Color Labs was one of the first color labs in the Southeast.

Because our company has always been on the cutting edge of technology, Mid-South Color Labs grew quickly into a top-notch custom color lab and has expanded to include a 15,000 square foot facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Our goal is to "take you to the next level".

We serve customers from coast to coast and internationally. With an emphasis on quality and service, our company philosophy is "the sale is complete when the customer is happy." This philosophy along with our smaller size makes our company extremely responsive to customer wishes. In fact, we often adapt or change our systems to accommodate customers rather than asking clients to change to match our systems.

Mid-South Color Labs fully subscribes to our Vision Statement and uses it to guide the company. Mid-South Color Labs is committed to the future and will do what it takes to continue to be a leader in the imaging business no matter what turns the industry takes.

What requirements are there for a photographer to work with you?
Professionals only, licensed locally.

Do you offer a consumer arm?
No, we only service professionals, so they can offer unique products, not available consumers

Many photographers are selling digitals because they don’t know how to order product or where to start. Do you help photographers with this transition?
We offer personalized service. One of our experienced sales reps will work with you personally, and take all the time necessary to get you up and running. Both reps have years of experience at the studio level and pro level. Contact dwitt@midsouthcolor.com, or rtrummer@midsouthcolor.com.

Which product do you see pet photographers order the most and at what size?
Our Painter series is the most popular option for pet photographers. These are digitally painted in Painter, printed on archival canvas, and finished with hand-applied contoured brush strokes. We often sell 30x40 to 40x60's, and go up to 60"x120". A 20x24 Painter Portrait with Oli-Enhanced Contoured Brush Strokes runs 288.44. If we do the digital Painter artwork for you, add $275.

Recommended mark up
We would recommend at least a 5x mark-up for these products. Some photographers charge $5000 - $10,000 for them, or even more.

If you were a photographer selling this product in a set package, what would you sell it with?
This is a stand-alone product but could be ordered with gift prints. Most of our large prints are framed, by us. We offer two lines of high-quality frames, and we drop-ship many of these.

Do you offer a discount on samples, if so, what is the discount?
Yes, 25% off studio samples over 16x20 in size.

Are any other samples required in order to get started with your lab and if so, what is the cost of these?
We offer free test prints, and send a sample pack with all of our products for you to see.
