Jumping Freddy | The Highgate Dog Photographer

JUMPING FREDDY

This client session from Suzi Darsa, the Highgate Dog Photographer in London UK, features a bouncy, smiley boy named Freddy (and, of course, his beloved ball!). Suzi is relatively new to the world of professional pet photography, having launched her business in 2020, but is quickly carving out a signature style for her work - her black and white portraits were particular favourites here at the club.

FROM THE ARTIST:

Focus, dedication and intent are all words that spring to mind having had the pleasure of photographing Freddy, a young cross breed who was obsessed with his ball during the session.

I created a triptych of black and white images of Freddy and his ball to be viewed and appreciated as a series. Viewed together these three images depict Freddy's determination and obsession with his ball, which featured as a large part of the photo session. The artistic rendering of these three images, individually and as a group, into this series is something I am proud to have created.

Whilst several standard portrait images were taken during the session, it is the black and white 'Ball series' that captures the essence of the time we spent together.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

The Highgate Dog Photographer
London, England

Prior to becoming a dedicated dog photographer in 2020, I spent my early career as a communications specialist surrounded by the work of great artists and photographers whilst working at the Tate galleries, the British Journal of Photography and Corbis, a leading digital image library of its time. My long standing passion for photography and the visual arts is translated in the contemporary portraits I create.
