Cross-Country Skiing With Joey and Cora | Kelly Carmody Photography

WILD ONES

Kelly Carmody knew exactly how to capture this adventurous family and their snow loving dogs Joey and Cora. What better way to highlight their special relationship than photographing them all enjoying their favourite family pastime. The snow-capped peaks provide the perfect backdrop to this fun client session.

FROM THE ARTIST:

“One of my goals with any pet photography session is to learn about each individual dog’s personality and how their relationship is special to the humans in their lives. These details really bring out the most beautiful parts of the relationship and help make compelling and diverse images.

When Joey and Cora’s family mentioned their love for cross-country skiing, I immediately knew we needed to incorporate this family activity into their photoshoot. I’m so glad we did too! These turned out to be some of my absolute favorite images from winter.

Cora is the new dog in the family at around one-year-old, but she’s fast become a snow enthusiast. As soon as the skis were strapped on, Cora and Joey knew it was go time.

Joey, much older and experienced, followed in line with the skis and wisely stepped in the ski tracks for easier footing. Cora on the other hand was a firecracker, zipping around and encouraging the family to keep up!”
